AFI Global Policy Forum: a unique arena
The 2010 Forum will be an intimate gathering of peers – up to 200 senior policymakers from over 60 developing countries are expected, as well as a select group of key international experts to add to the discussions and offer additional insights. The 2010 Global Policy Forum (GPF) is co-hosted by AFI and Bank Indonesia. Forum participation is by invitation only.
The only global event of its kind, the 2010 GPF is the unique arena for financial policymakers from developing countries to meet, share experiences and explore how to increase access to financial services for the poor through innovative policymaking.
Building on success: taking financial inclusion to the next level
Significant strides have been made in the past year at national, regional and global levels to drive forward policy innovations and reforms that can help expand access to and use of financial services.
The 2010 Global Policy Forum will be a unique opportunity to review and assess progress on financial inclusion policymaking of the last 12 months, take stock of key activities that have taken place within the AFI network and share the lessons learned. The Forum will also identify gaps and challenges to address bottlenecks and further advance financial inclusion policy in developing countries and set the stage for defining priority areas for AFI’s work program for 2010-2011.
Demand-driven agenda
Through consultation with AFI members a range of policy issues have been established as high-priority for discussion at this event. Topics include leadership for financial inclusion, financial integrity, and mobile phone financial services. Building on the successes of the 2009 GPF in Nairobi, a variety of innovative formats and tools will be employed to encourage maximum participation and knowledge exchange.
