Consumer Empowerment and Market Conduct Working Group (CEMCWG) Meeting, co-hosted by the Central Bank of Seychelles 

Main themes of this meeting will include: 

Cross-cutting policy concerns to CEMC and SME Finance WGs
The goal of this joint session is to set common research policy topics, where dialogue and collaboration between both working groups produce new knowledge products during 2017-2018. Common Topics to be discussed: (i) regulatory definition of MSMEs as financial consumers and, (ii) impact of financial education programs on MSMEs (e.g. increase of turnover).

Finding policy theme synergies between the two working groups

  • Planning for joint knowledge products related to the topics covered in the previous session.
  • Defining MSMEs as financial consumers and the positive impact on access to financing.
  • Building evidence on financial education programs to assess its impact on the level of profitability of MSMEs.

To prioritize the topics and process the discussion held at the previous session, facilitator will recap the takeaways, and will open the floor to discuss experiences coming from Mexico, and Peru related to the topics.
