The Eastern Europe & Central Asia Policy Initiative (ECAPI) is a special AFI platform designed to enhance AFI network’s ability to support AFI members in ECAPI on specific regional priorities, sharing regional knowledge, and translating global financial inclusion policy solutions into practical implementation at the regional and national levels to advance access, usage, and quality of financial services in ECAPI member countries. The platform also amplifies the collective voice of Eastern European and Central Asian (EECA) nations on key financial inclusion policy issues.
AFI members in ECAPI work closely to improve the availability, usage and quality of financial services across the region and bridging the financial inclusion gaps (men-vs-women, urban-vs-rural, etc.). In collaborative and peer-to-peer supportive way they jointly address common financial inclusion challenges, build capacity, share policy insights and lessons to promote inclusive, efficient, and safe financial systems for everyone in ECAPI member countries.
Various stakeholders facilitate the advancement of financial inclusion in the region (e.g. donors, development agencies, private sector players, and others). Their concerted efforts help increase access to finance, usage and quality of financial services for the unbanked and/or underserved communities, including women, youth, people with disabilities, residents in rural and remote areas, and others. Stakeholders are encouraged to contact ECAPI@afi-global.org to explore the potential for mutually beneficial collaboration.
