The 1st Edward W. Claugus Award

Peru’s Banking Superintendent, Dr. Daniel Schydlowsky, will receive the first Edward W. Claugus Award in recognition of his exceptional work in developing a competitive, flourishing, and innovative financial inclusion sector that promotes quality products and ensures client protection. Through Dr. Schydlowsky’s leadership, Peru has come to exemplify the progress and conditions necessary for meaningful financial inclusion. In his position as Chair of the Alliance for Financial Inclusion, a global peer-learning network of over 120 policymaking and regulatory institutions,  Dr. Schydlowsky works with more than 90 developing and emerging countries to create and refine effective financial inclusion policy.

he Edward W. Claugus Award recognizes Accion microfinance partners, impact investee companies, not-for-profit and for-profit partners, other leaders, and staff teams for their exceptional work and breakthroughs in financial inclusion.  Mr. Claugus was passionate about social change, and the award was named in his honor to celebrate and remember his passionate belief in and support for innovative social enterprise
