AFI, in collaboration with VISA, is organizing a Public Private Dialogue (PPD) Training on ‘Accelerating Digital Payments in the South Pacific through Public-Private Collaboration’ on 04 August 2021 at 02:00 to 03:00 (UTC).

Led by VISA, the training session will present potential digital payment solutions befitting the needs of the Pacific Islands countries. While the pandemic has pushed small and medium businesses on the verge of collapse, there is a major upside to it in the form of people adopting digital platforms for their financial needs. The technical session will focus on digitalization of payments to accelerate recovery of small and medium businesses that face liquidity stress and may slip into insolvency if timely measures are not taken. Bringing use cases from across the world, the session would help participants gain understanding of various innovations in contactless payments, digital marketplace, infrastructure, and regulatory framework to foster greener recovery and explore potential for economic growth as countries re-open their borders and economies.
