Overview

Countries globally have developed National Financial Inclusion Strategy (NFIS) to meet their financial inclusion objectives. As at April 2019, there are currently 48 countries within AFI network which has an NFIS and most of them are now in the implementation phase.

This Member Training will focus on implementation, monitoring and evaluation of the NFIS.  Implementation of an NFIS includes developing an effective coordination structure, preparing an NFIS action plan, identifying and mitigating risks. The training will also discuss the effective use of Financial Inclusion Data (FID) at these stages of NFIS development.

What are the Objectives of the Training?

At the end of the training, using AFI’s NFIS toolkit, participants will be able to demonstrate the process of the NFIS implementation and identify the use of FID at each step of implementation and, monitoring and evaluation. To enable them to achieve this, the learners will be able to:

• Identify the relevant best practices of effective coordination and collaboration with multiple stakeholders for strategy implementation;
• Explore the different methodologies for the collection and usage of data and indicators for monitoring & evaluation; and
• Be aware of the emerging trends and issues in relation to implementation and monitoring and evaluation of the NFIS.

Who Should Attend?

The training is exclusively for members of AFI network only. Senior officials of AFI member institutions who are leading the implementation of the national financial inclusion strategy and those enforcing financial inclusion data frameworks are invited to participate in the training.
