The Alliance of Financial Inclusion (AFI) is organizing a conference under the theme “Bridging the Gap: Financial Inclusion Policy Solutions for Women in Africa”. The one-day event will be held on July 22, 2015 in Yamoussoukro, Côte d’Ivoire, ahead of the 3rd Annual African Mobile Phone Financial Services Policy Initiative (AMPI) Leaders’ Roundtable, which will be held on July 23 to 24, 2015.
Objectives
- To develop a common understanding of the role that financial regulators can play in advancing financial inclusion for women, while appreciating that there are no one size fits all solutions for countries with diverse cultural contexts
- To increase awareness among AFI members on how to develop suitable innovative financial inclusion policies and strategies that help closing the financial inclusion gender gap
- To explore further opportunities for a continuing or expanding work within the AFI network in promoting gender equality in finance regionally and/or globally
Participants
Up to 150 participants comprising leaders of AFI African member institutions and representatives from other relevant stakeholders (such as multilateral and international development agencies/banks and private foundations).
