AFI is organizing Consumer Empowerment and Market Conduct Working Group (CEMCWG) and Digital Financial Services Working Group (DFSWG) Technical Webinar on Consumer Protection for Digital Financial Services. The virtual event is scheduled for 27 October 2020 at 1:15 PM (UTC).
The DFSWG and the CEMCWG have acknowledged the critical need to steer members to adapt their existing consumer protection regulations and interventions to reflect the deepening role of DFS. This led to its joint development of a policy model on Consumer Protection for Digital Financial Services (CP4DFS). It proposes five key policy guidance principles (policy and regulatory environment, product development and service delivery, consumer awareness, complaint, and redress, supervision and enforcement, cross-cutting issues) with relevant actionable recommendations for regulators in the development of a DFS-responsive consumer protection regulatory framework. The objective of the webinar is to facilitate the adoption/implementation of the objectives of the policy model by the members at the institutional level.
Please confirm your participation by Monday, 26 October 2020.
