G-24 and AFI are organizing the 13th Annual G-24/AFI policymakers’ roundtable at the IMF and World Bank virtual Spring Meetings on 13 April, 13:00 -15:00 UTC.
Recognizing the vital importance of ensuring that recovery from the pandemic is both climate friendly and inclusive of disadvantaged population groups, this year’s Roundtable will be held on the theme of “Inclusive Green Finance: A Pathway to Sustainable COVID-19 Recovery”. As a rapidly evolving area in which a significant body of policy guidance and case studies has now been developed within the AFI network, inclusive green finance is an important aspect of the fast-emerging global green finance discussion. By identifying the interlinkages between the sustainability of the planet and the inclusion of human beings, inclusive green finance can contribute in a powerful way to national and global economic recovery strategies, post-pandemic.
The discussion will be held in two interlinked sessions:
- Experience sharing and recommendations from the G-24 and AFI networks on inclusive green finance and its role in sustainable COVID-19 recovery; and
- Establishing linkages and opportunities for G-24 and AFI members to contribute to key international fora and processes on climate change and green finance.
