AFI is organizing an IGFWG Technical Webinar on ”Greening the Recovery Post COVID-19” on the 28 October 2020 at 11.00 AM UTC.
The webinar will discuss potential solutions to ensure that the economic recovery post COVID-19 is sustainable and how to integrate Inclusive Green Finance (IGF) policies in such a recovery. The webinar will specifically focus on the role of financial regulators in this process and how to develop strategic approaches to limit global environmental degradation and climate change, and to ensure that recovery plans do not lead to further exclusion. Considering how severely MSMEs have been affected by the pandemic, there will be a specific emphasis on how to ensure that their recovery is inclusive.
The pandemic and how regulators respond to it stresses the importance of building resilience for future crises and risks, such as those posed by climate change. This can be achieved by investing in a low-carbon economy and investing in the wellbeing and resilience of those who are the most vulnerable. Intensified efforts to advance financial inclusion, as well as green investments, are a crucial pillar of this resilience building. We are counting with your participation!
Please confirm your participation by Monday, 26 October 2020.
Should you have any questions regarding this webinar or how to participate, please contact IGFWG@afi-global.org.
We look forward to welcoming you in our next IGFWG Meeting.
