AFI is organizing its African Financial Inclusion Policy Initiative (AfPI) Public Private Dialogue (PPD) on the topic “Strengthening last mile delivery channels for digital financial services uptake”. Dialogue will be held virtually on 19 August 2020 9:00 – 10:15 UTC.
Digitization of financial services became one of the key tools to preserve the functioning of economies and the security of people and firms during COVID-19. At the same time, access and usage of DFS are greatly driven by last-mile delivery channels (agents, merchants, fintechs, e-commerce firms, aggregators, and other last-mile networks) which provide the rails for the flow of financial services between the financial service providers and the customers. At the upcoming PPD meeting AfPI members in Africa and AFI private sector partners will discuss challenges being faced by last mile delivery channels from both a policy and market perspective and identify mitigation measures to ensure further uptake and usage of DFS in the region.
