Regional Meeting: Financial Inclusion Initiative for Latin America and the Caribbean (FILAC), Brazil
This event is organized by the Alliance for Financial Inclusion (AFI) and the Banco Central do Brasil, with the support of the International Development Research Center (IDRC). The objective is to analyse the development of FILAC and prioritize the areas and activities to be carried out as next steps. FILAC is an AFI initiative supported by the Canadian Government’s International Development Research Center (IDRC) to develop a regional peer-learning platform for Latin American and Caribbean members to generate and synthesize learning through research and study, and to exchange innovative knowledge on policies, regulation and support that could improve access to quality financial services for those excluded from the financial system, creating a favorable environment for expanding such services in the region. The policy priorities of this Initiative are: (1) Digital Financial Services, (2) Data and Measurement of Financial Inclusion and (3) Consumer Protection and Financial Education; all with a gender focus.
