AFI is organizing the 1st Virtual AFI Public-Private Dialogue (PPD) Meeting that will take place on Thursday, 23 April 2020 from 01:00 PM to 03:00 PM UTC/Abidjan time (09:00 PM – 11:00 PM Kuala Lumpur time; 08.00 AM – 11.00 AM Mexico City time). The event will be conducted over videoconference and it is open only to AFI members and private sector partners.
The 1st Virtual AFI PPD Meeting on COVID-19 Response will provide AFI members and private sector partners with a platform to directly share practical experience, best practices, and coordinate public and private interventions aimed to avoid or minimize negative implications of pandemic on MSMEs, including women-led MSMEs.
The virtual PPD meeting is part of a comprehensive approach that AFI is undertaking as part of its COVID-19 Policy Response designed to support members in mitigating the impacts of the current crisis to ensure economic resilience and recovery in members’ jurisdictions. The meeting will address current mitigation measures and identify the policy implementation gaps that public and private sectors could facilitate from macro and strategic perspectives make sure that the gains of financial inclusions uptake are sustained.
The insights of AFI members and PPD partners will be synthesized into a Public-Private Summary Note that will highlight key practical policy solutions discussed at the meeting. The Summary Note will provide AFI members and PPD partners with practical lessons that will facilitate development of network policy response toolkits or guidance for strengthening MSMEs’ resilience to the coronavirus crisis and to help with their later recovery. The event will also inform AFI capacity building and in-country implementation activities under AFI COVID-19 Policy Response.
