AFI is organizing the Capacity Building Event on Emerging Digital Payment Trends in Shenzhen, Guangdong Province, China. This event is being held in collaboration with the Tsinghua University People’s Bank of China School of Finance (PBCSF) and the Finance Center for South-South Cooperation (FCSSC). It will follow the Global Finance Forum organized by Tsinghua University PBCSF from 17 to 19 May 2025, under the theme “Sharing the Future: Building an Open and Inclusive World Economy and Finance”.
The capacity building event will provide select AFI member institutions with an opportunity to gain insights from China’s experience in designing, developing, and operating a secure, competitive, inclusive, and innovative digital payments ecosystem that advances financial inclusion. The event will focus on the following digital financial services (DFS) thematic priorities identified by AFI members:
• Regulation and supervision of digital payments and DFS
• Inclusive instant payment systems (inclusive digital financial infrastructure)
• Leveraging digital data footprints to expand and deepen access to DFS
• Competition in DFS ecosystems
