The Extreme Poverty Conference will provide an opportunity for global and regional thinkers to discuss the latest issues regarding poverty in Asia. The conference will highlight programs that improve the well-being of the extreme poor and protect the less poor from shocks that might pull them into extreme poverty. The objective of each session is to produce a policy briefer identifying the most efficient and sustainable approaches to improving the well-being of the extreme poor. Steve O’Connell, USAID’s Chief Economist, will give the keynote speech and share the Agency’s vision on ending extreme poverty.
AFI’s Robin Newnham will be on the panel of the Inclusive Finance session taking place on Wednesday 8 April.
