Alliance of Financial Inclusion (AFI) is organizing a virtual launch of its European Representative Office (ERO), which is co-hosted in the City of Luxembourg, co-hosted with the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of the Grand Dutchy of Luxembourg. The opening ceremony is scheduled for 5 October at 08:00 UTC (10:00 AM Luxembourg time/04:00 PM Kuala Lumpur time).
The office launch will be conducted virtually due to ongoing COVID-19 health crisis and will include a news conference and a discussion with the Minister of Finance of Luxembourg, Mr. Pierre Gramegna, the Minister of Development Cooperation and Humanitarian Affairs of Luxembourg, Mr. Franz Fayot, and AFI Executive Director Dr. Alfred Hannig.
Opening of ERO will enable strategic expansion of AFI’s activities in Europe, Caucasus and Central Asia. While continuing to bring tailored services and products to AFI’s existing and potential membership in the region, the ERO will provide unique added value to AFI members globally, to Luxembourg’s rich and diverse financial inclusion ecosystem and as well to the broader European community.
AFI ERO will enhance the existing dialogue among financial regulators in developing and developed countries and with AFI’s European based partners, grow new and promising strategic partnerships and strengthen AFI’s strategic communications, advocacy, and representational contribution towards reshaping the global policy architecture for financial inclusion.
The event will be featured live on Zoom and AFI’s Facebook and YouTube channels.
