AFI and ASEAN Working Committee on Financial Inclusion (WC-FINC) are organizing a virtual workshop on digital financial literacy (DFL) on 26 November 2020. 

The workshop is part of a collaboration between AFI and WC-FINC on the development of a policy note on DFL that is expected to be finalized in 2021. The event will provide a platform to build knowledge and understanding of DFL, and deliberate technical considerations that will provide critical input to the development of the policy note.

The ASEAN region has witnessed a significant growth in digital financial services (DFS) in the past decade. This growth has been facilitated by the promotion of regulatory approaches and the creation of appropriate digital infrastructure that has resulted in innovation driven by start-ups, big-techs, digital platforms, banks and mobile network operators. Such rapid expansion underscores the need for relevant knowledge and skills, particularly among underserved and vulnerable populations, to ensure effective access and usage of DFS while safeguarding against consumer protection-related risks.

We invite you to nominate three staff members per member institution to join the workshop. The nominated staff should submit their registration before 24 November 2020.
