BOU – AFI Regional Training on Financial Inclusion of Forcibly Displaced Persons (FDPs): Towards Inclusive Financial Services, Financial Capability and Financial Health for All

The Bank of Uganda (BoU) and AFI, will be hosting the in-person Regional Training on Financial Inclusion of Forcibly Displaced Persons (FDPs): Towards Inclusive Financial Services, Financial Capability and Financial Health for All, from 30 October – 2 November 2023 in Uganda. 

The training will build on the BOU-AFI Virtual Member Training on FDPs held in 2022, which focused on raising awareness on FDPs and the challenges that policymakers and regulators face in developing and implementing appropriate financial inclusion policies. This training aims to enable participants to use AFI’s Policy Framework for the Financial Inclusion of FDPs to identify practical financial inclusion policies that address the challenges FDPs faced in accessing and using quality formal financial services.

The training is open to AFI member institutions from the Sub-Saharan Africa and Arab regions. The training will follow AFI’s peer learning model, and all the nominated participants will be expected to participate actively and share what has been done by their respective institutions in financial inclusion of FDPs. We thus invite you to nominate officials involved in the development of financial inclusion policies focusing on FDPs.
