Manager, Human Resources

JOB PURPOSE

The Manager, Human Resources (HR) is responsible to lead and support one of the strategic HR components on the full spectrum of policy, governance, compensation & benefits, engagement & retention, relation, and workplace management in supporting the overall organization’s corporate objectives.

The position oversees the enhancement and improvement of HR policies, standards, and practices; undertakes the employee compensation and benefits review exercise; builds strong employee and workplace relationships and engagement; and oversees the office workspace in providing a conductive, modern, safe and flexible work environment.

The position also plays an active role in collaboration with the HR team and heads of departments to ensure excellent execution of HR priorities and initiatives in building a strong and competent workforce.

ACCOUNTABILITIES / KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead, review and implement organization’s HR policies, standards, and procedures; ensuring all policies, procedures, guidelines, etc. are adhered to the employment law and serve the growing needs of the organization.
  • Provide advice on the application and interpretation of HR policies, standards, and procedures; and gather feedback on policy impact and effectiveness as deemed appropriate.
  • Periodically assess the compensation and benefits needs and trends; and conduct review to ensure attractive remuneration is in place to attract market talent for competitive advantage.
  • Compile or obtain relevant statistics data, provide analytical reporting, learn from benchmarking and industry research, and make appropriate recommendations.
  • Maintain internal equity through the assessment of job description, designation, job banding, employee’s demographic, etc. which contribute to employee retention and better engagement.
  • Lead, initiate and coordinate employee’s engagement and retention initiatives to provide better internal connectivity, and encourage positive well-being across departments or locations.
  • Manage, report, and resolve employee feedback, issues, complaints, or disciplinary matters. Advise and counsel employees/line managers to build and preserve a healthy and respectful work culture and environment.
  • Liaise with external legal and professional resources or services to ensure that all employment policies or disputes adhered to the employment laws and regulations.
  • Oversee and provide guidance to ensure excellent execution of HR administration, office administration and work permits.
  • Collaborate and support ad hoc/periodic information requests for due diligence or audit purposes.
  • Supervise and participates in the preparation of staff meetings, employee engagement initiatives or other HR assignments or projects.
  • Manage the respective employee communication for policy, governance, compensation and benefits, relation, and workplace management.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resource Management or Business Administration, or equivalent.
  • Minimum 3 – 5 years experience at the manager level in a multinational organization or financial or service industry.
  • Proven working experience as HR Manager with excellent track records in developing and implementing policies and processes, managing compensation and benefits, Industrial/Employee Relations (IR/ER) and engagement.
  • Good knowledge or familiarity with labour laws and HR best practices.
