AFI & GBA co-chair W20 Financial Inclusion Group

Alliance for Financial Inclusion (AFI) and the Global Banking Alliance for Women (GBA) are co-chairing the Women 20 (W20) Financial Inclusion Group under the Argentinian presidency of the G20. AFI and GBA are supporting the W20 with policy analysis and recommendations to advance women’s financial inclusion in line with the Denarau Action Plan.

As a co-chair, AFI is supporting content development to inform W20’s policy recommendations as well as advocacy, and outreach on gender and women’s financial inclusion.

The W20 is the official G20 engagement group dedicated to promoting gender inclusiveness and gender equality as an integral part of the G20 process. In a broad dialogue using digital tools, expert meetings and roundtables as well as the W20 Summit, the W20 joins the global experiences of women representing the civil society, private sector, entrepreneurs and academia/think tanks from all G20 countries to develop and formulate strong policy recommendations that will foster women’s economic empowerment. These recommendations are then submitted to the G20 heads of state and government.

AFI and the W20 will also take part in each other’s key events in 2018 including the AFI Global Policy Forum in Sochi 5-7 September, and the W20 Summit in Buenos Aires, 2-4 October.
