AFI sent a representative to the Axiata Digital Services Regulatory Training Workshop, held at the Gardens Hotel and Residences on 18 May in Kuala Lumpur.

Ricardo Estrada, Digital Financial Services Policy Manager at AFI, participated as the speakers in the “Digital Financial Services and Financial Regulators” session, focusing on the key regulatory issues addressed by AFI member institutions in the Digital Financial Services Working Group (DFSWG).

Axiata is a telecommunications group with a presence in 10 countries in South Asia working to expand upon DFS. The internal workshop was attended by 45 staff of Axiata.

“Digital financial services is the best way to improve financial inclusion because it makes financial services more affordable and feasible,” said Estrada.
