AFI’s Steering Committee met in Riviera Maya, Mexico on Tuesday in conjunction with the Global Policy Forum (GPF). The goal of the meeting was to review AFI’s progress within its first three years of existence as well as to chart a path for the network’s next phase.
The committee has recently completed the design of a process that will lead to AFI becoming an independent organization which is fully owned by its members. This decision emerged after a lengthy strategic review process, including the drafting of a blueprint to ensure the long-term sustainability of the organization.
Over the next five years, AFI will continue to partner with GIZ (German International Cooperation) and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation while preparing a solid footing for the network.
