Colombia has had a recent focus on the development agent banking policies and, with mobile phone use for nearly 90 percent of the population, also sees great potential in expanding its mobile financial services.
The SFC was created from the merger of the Banking Superintendence of Colombia and the Securities Superintendence in 2005.
