FIDWG held its 5th meeting in Livingstone, Zambia from 22-23 March 2012. During the meeting working group members were able to share new developments in their ongoing data initiatives, view a presentation on the compiled catalogue of financial inclusion indicators, take part in a peer review of demand-side questionnaires and discus survey design methodologies.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the FIDWG members agreed to undertake more focused work on identified high priority areas through FIDWG subgroups. These focus areas included: the development of a ‘Quality Catalogue’; the identification of a core set of indicators; the creation of a catalogue of indicators; drafting a demand-side survey toolkit/best practices and; a peer review of the group’s Uganda questionnaire.
FIDWG also agreed to strengthen its coordination with other AFI working groups, in particular the Consumer Empowerment and Market Conduct (CEMC) and Mobile Financial Services (MFS) working groups.
