AFI Executive Director Alfred Hannig will take part in an Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) workshop entitled, Enhancing the Potential of Inclusion-Friendly Electronic G2P Payments on 2 May in Manila, Philippines. The workshop is co-hosted by Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas and the US Treasury with support from APEC and the USAID-funded APEC Technical and Training Facility, as well as through strategic partnerships with Asian Development Bank), World Bank, AFI and the Consultative Group to Assist the Poor.
Bringing together financial policymakers and experts from around the world, the event will feature four sessions: Electronic Government-to-Person (E-G2P) Payments: Key Facets; E- G2P Payment System Implementation; Enabling Infrastructure, Policy, and Regulatory Environment; and E-G2P Roundtable: A Gateway to Financial Inclusion.
In addition, a wrap-up session will give participants the opportunity to identify areas in which further support or guidance would be helpful as well as explore ways to address the identified needs.
