The Banking Association South Africa will host its inaugural Financial Inclusion Indaba and Exhibition at the Johannesburg Stock Exchange (JSE) in Johannesburg, South Africa on 21 September 2012 from 7:30-14:30. The theme of the indaba will be ‘The State of Financial Inclusion in South Africa.’
The event aims to provide a platform for member banks to engender dialogue with other stakeholders in the financial inclusion space, provide an opportunity to showcase their products and services, discuss trends and challenges, share international best practice and innovation, discuss the future and strategic thrust of financial inclusion in South Africa, and influence policy direction.
The keynote address will be delivered by the Honorable Deputy Minister of Finance, Nhlanhla Nene.
The indaba is structured into three discussion panels and an exhibition. The panel discussions will cover the role of the banking sector in financial Inclusion, south-to-south findings in inclusive banking approaches, as well as the role of financial sector regulators in promoting financial inclusion and trade-offs in maintaining the integrity and stability of the financial system.
