Global Finance recently published its ‘Central Banker Report Card’ that named AFI network members Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) Governor Amando Tetangco Jr. and Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) Governor Zeti Akhtar Aziz among the heads of the central banks of six countries as the ‘World’s Best Central Bankers’ in 2012.
The report card has been published annually since 1994 to grade central bank governors from 50 key countries for success in areas such as inflation control, economic growth goals, currency stability and interest rate management. “A” represents an excellent performance.
High-level representatives from both BNM and BSP are expected to participate in the 2012 Global Policy Forum in Cape Town, South Africa on 26-28 September 2012.
“During one of the toughest years on record, the world’s central bankers were tested as never before,” said Joseph Giarraputo, publisher at Global Finance.
