AFI member institution Banque de la République d’Haïti will host the Caribbean Group of Banking Supervisors’ XXXI Conference on 30 May – 1 June 2013 in Pétion-Ville, Haiti.
The conference will be held under the overarching theme, “Strengthening Regional Resilience through Enhanced Supervisory Cooperation.” It will offer a platform for high-level regulators to explore the implications of developments in regional and international financial markets, as well as share experiences on regulatory developments within their respective jurisdictions while determining strategies on future priorities.
The forum will highlight:
- Regional Systemically Important Banks (SIBS): Assessments in relation to Basel requirements;
- Supervisory implications of outsourcing of core banking functions;
- Loan classification and provisioning standards: Case for regional harmonization; and
- Credit reporting oversight: Experiences in implementation.
Additionally, the agenda will incorporate discussion on supervisory issues via international speakers covering areas such as corporate governance, supervisory assessments of living wills and financial system stability.
