AFI recently welcomed the addition of the Agency for Supervision of Fully Funded Pension Insurance (MAPAS) from the Republic of Macedonia. MAPAS will join AFI as a specialist member institution, and becomes the second member from Macedonia in the AFI Network, along with the National Bank of the Republic of Macedonia (NBRM).

From South-eastern Europe, MAPAS represents a valuable addition to a vibrant network of policymakers and regulators working together to increase access to appropriate financial services for the unbanked and underserved. The AFI Network now consists of 118 members from 94 developing and emerging countries which have recently embarked upon the process of establishing AFI as an independent and permanent organization owned by its members.
