AFI’s Policy Manager, Eliki Boletawa, will travel to Vanuatu this week to take part in the ‘National Financial Inclusion Workshop: Medium Term Strategy for Financial Inclusion in Vanuatu’, on Aug. 9-10 at Warwick Le Lagon Hotel in Port Vila, Vanuatu. Mr. Boletawa is scheduled to serve as the moderator during a Thursday afternoon panel session to discuss financial inclusion and technology. On Friday, he is scheduled to be a speaker during a morning panel session that will cover the role of the central bank in promoting and coordinating the implementation of financial inclusion. Mr. Boletawa will also moderate the working group presentation Friday afternoon.
The event will provide a platform to gather the views of key stakeholders and identify the challenges they face while providing or receiving financial services, develop a common vision toward achieving greater financial inclusion in the nation, promote greater involvement of the private sector, and create a medium term national strategy for developing microfinance and greater financial inclusion and empowerment in Vanuatu.
The workshop is hosted by the Reserve Bank of Vanuatu in collaboration with the Pacific Financial Inclusion Programme, AFI and AusAID.
