Superintendencia de Bancos de Guatemala (SIB) Banking Regulation Specialist Ricardo Axuán Estrada Villalta highlighted the importance of AFI and the Mobile Financial Services Working Group (MFSWG) in a recent article published in SIB’s magazine Visión Financiera.

The article outlines various goals and successes of the AFI Network, stating that “AFI for many is considered the equivalent of the United Nations in the field of financial inclusion.”

It also focuses on the value of AFI’s working groups, including the MFSWG which held its 7th Annual Meeting last April in Antigua, Guatemala.

“The knowledge acquired through these (meetings) have direct effects on the strengthening of technical rigor and the international perspective on the standards development processes, as well as developing initiatives to promote financial inclusion in the country,” according to the article.
