At the recent AFI 2025 Global Policy Forum in Namibia, State Bank of Pakistan took home the Global Youth Financial Inclusion Award, in recognition of their efforts to expand young people’ access and use of financial services.
Two initiatives in particular impressed the judges:
- The Prime Minister’s Youth Business and Agriculture Loan Scheme provides affordable credit to entrepreneurs aged 18 and above
- The Sunwai online customer complaints portal, which is highly accessible and available in multiple languages
Alongside State Bank of Pakistan, the following AFI members were finalists for this year’s Global Youth Financial Inclusion Award:
- Banque de la République d’Haïti
- Banco Central de Reserva de El Salvador
- Bank Negara Malaysia
- National Bank of the Republic of North Macedonia
