Over the last 10 years, the Government of Belarus has increasingly supported private sector participation in the economy and has taken steps to develop a comprehensive MSME policy.

This case study shares the collaborative and inter-agency support leading to the growth of the MSME sector, and its available financing, of the Republic of Belarus. Specifically, we will dive into the support of the Development Bank of the Republic of Belarus (DBRB) who is championing the country’s leasing financing efforts. The case study also touches on COVID-19 related support to local businesses, and how the nation’s digitalization efforts have increased financial inclusion.
