Sharing experiences on SME finance reforms, both successes, and failures, is an important way for us all to learn and this guideline note is an effort to do just that.

This guideline note serves as an initial reference for AFI members developing policy and regulation for SME access to finance, and to open dialogue among AFI members. It is hoped that their reactions to the lessons and experiences shared in this publication will prompt broader discussions on the issues we all face, enrich our work and ensure more sustainable solutions to SME access to finance across the globe.
