Guideline Note 25: Leveraging Sex-Disaggregated Data
LEVERAGING SEX-DISAGGREGATED DATA TO ACCELERATE PROGRESS TOWARDS WOMEN’S FINANCIAL INCLUSION Women are still disproportionately excluded from the formal financial system and make up more than half of the world’s unbanked population. According to the 2014 Global Findex, 58 percent of women had an account compared to 65 percent of men. This gender gap has persisted at 9 percent for developing economies, despite progress to advance financial inclusion.
