From 4 to 7 August 2025, AFI was a strategic partner for MyFintech Week 2025, an event organized by Bank Negara Malaysia, Securities Commission Malaysia, Asian Institute of Chartered Bankers, Fintech Association of Malaysia, and the Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation.
A number of AFI members spoke during the event, providing perspectives from their jurisdictions and highlighting Fintech’s role in financial inclusion, particularly for women and women-led MSMEs.
Bank Negara Malaysia’s Deputy Governor, Adnan Zaylani, discussed how fintech can bridge divides and transform access to finance. Layanah Al-Wreikat, Business Development & Operations Director at Jordan Payments & Clearing Company (JoPACC), and Dr. Aisha Isa-Olatinwo, Director, Consumer Protection and Financial Inclusion at Central Bank of Nigeria, spoke on how innovation can build inclusion and trust.
Samuel Tarinda, Deputy Director, Economic Research & Policy, Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe, and Linda Dlamini, Deputy Director Operations – Fintech & Innovation at Central Bank of Eswatini, discussed how to design an inclusive financial ecosystem, drawing on AFI’s recently published Gender Inclusive Finance Policy Model.
AFI staff members Dr Eliki Boletawa, Audrey Hove and Adeyemi Omotoso led and joined discussions.
