BNM- AFI Virtual Member Training on Digital Banks: To Reach the Last Mile

Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) and AFI are organizing the BNM-AFI Virtual Member Training on Digital Banks: To Reach the Last Mile which will be delivered through a three-day virtual training from 17 to 19 August 2021.

This Virtual Member Training will be based on AFI’s Policy Framework on the Licensing, Supervision and Regulation of Digital Banks that is currently being drafted. It will also draw learnings from the Licensing Framework for Digital Banks issued by BNM in December 2020, which focuses on expanding meaningful access and promoting responsible usage among unserved and underserved segments. The training will provide technical guidance to regulators within the AFI network and beyond, on key policies and regulatory considerations on licensing, supervising, and regulating digital banks.

The training is intended for senior officials from AFI member institutions who are working to develop policies/frameworks/guidelines especially focusing on digital banks. The training will follow AFI’s model of peer learning and will be led by technical experts from the AFI network, BNM and AFI Management Unit.
