AFI Global Policy Forum 13-15 September 2017, Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt

The 9th AFI Global Policy Forum (GPF) in Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt will be held from 13-15 September 2017. Co-hosted by the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) and the Alliance for Financial Inclusion (AFI), this will be the first time that AFI’s flagship event is hosted in the Arab region. Gathering over 800 participants, the Forum will be highlighting innovative financial inclusion policies and activities taking place around the world.

Under the overarching theme of “Exploring Diversity, Promoting Inclusion,” the 2017 GPF will showcase the diversity of culture, experience, and background within the AFI network, while illustrating how this diversity creates and promotes effective financial inclusion policy reforms and innovations. The CBE and AFI believe that embracing diversity through mutual learning and open exchange among peers is key to achieving full financial inclusion and that both diversity and inclusion are engine for poverty reduction and economic growth.

Events will commence on 13 September with the AFI Annual General Meeting (AGM), a full-day program exclusively for AFI members led by the Heads of AFI member institutions. The 2017 AFI Global Policy Forum will follow on 14 and 15 September, with prominent leaders of Egypt providing key and opening remarks during the Opening Ceremony. More details regarding the Forum agenda are available on the AFI website.
